    i have a floor!

    Some accomplishment:

I can reach my door without tiptoeing around!  I know, if I just had a cleaner room this wouldn’t be an issue.  Living out of boxes for the past two months was not exactly how I expected to be living, thanks.

    Wally’s Cafe

Ventured to Emeryville for dinner at Wally’s Cafe.  The location was a bit misleading.  I think I drove past it at least three times, and walked past it twice.  Thankfully we had iPhones to tell us when we were directly “on top” of the location.  Phew.  This place takes “hole in the wall” to a whole new level.

It reminded me of those places in Concord, or San Diego.  They look sketch, especially with the prices, but when you taste the food it’s truly authentic and some of the best eats ever.

Free lentil soup and baklava served with every meal.  Got some dolmas for an appetizer, usually an order comes with three but we were given four (easier to share, I suppose).  And the entree… good enough to feed two Emilizas.  I guess that’s one normal person serving.  Beef Shawarma.  So much flavor, with a tangy tzatziki sauce and a fresh salad for about $12.  Def one of the cheapest, but most delicious and filling meals I’ve had this summer.

    Need.  More.

    bbq time

This post will be dedicated to a beloved starving cousin of mine.  I hope you can taste the flavorful food over the internet.  There’re leftovers in the fridge if you feel like teleporting to California.  Pictured below: tri-tip, bell peppers and zucchini.  Delicious.

I would have posted pictures of my new haircut and items from my mini-shopping adventure today.  But that’d be weird.  Dunno how I feel about posting pictures of myself online… I might break the Interwebs.

    pancit bihon

Old lady made pancit bihon per request of my mother.  This is the filling.  Normally the pancit is all mixed and wonderful, ready to eat.  I suppose Old lady wanted to separate the filling from the noodles so the noodles don’t get soggy.  How strange.  Erm, for the non-Filipino: think thin rice noodles with ground meat (chicken in this case), cauliflower, celery, carrots and cabbage.

    pasta adventure

Stayed at a friend’s house for the weekend and we decided to raid Whole Foods for ingredients to make pasta.  Mm, whole wheat pasta, onions, mushrooms and an awesome sundried tomato sauce.  I wish I had some more, it truly was amazing.

    Sprinkles!

And, still in Palo Alto (but a different day, duh) had to get Sprinkles from the Stanford shopping center.

Pictured below are key lime and dark chocolate banana, respectively.

I have yet to eat the Key Lime.  Ugh, so tempted, but soooo sweet.

    Crepevine

Went to Crepevine in Palo Alto, mmmmm. And got the Siena crepe: strawberries, ice cream, whipped cream and nutella. Oh, and lots of nuts. Lots. Of. Nuts.

    chores…

What I should have been doing instead of updating my blog/uploading pictures on facebook/sorting photos on my phone…

    Clean this.

    Roseville

Went to the Noodle House with my cousins.  Here, shrimp pasta.  (it was served with a casear salad, but I ate it too fast to take a picture of it :( )

And, one of the family dogs cutefully on a pillow.

    Davis pt2

Salmon spinach salad at Dos Coyotes.

And shrimp/chicken/seafood dumplings at the Dumpling House.
